A few books have been written about the subject old (Bible Word Book by W. A. Wright) and newer.

The OED is better than a Webster (e.g. 1828) as far as information about English.

However, the true authority is not in "language" as a presupposition, but in Scripture itself. This means that God's words define themselves.

Take for example, a word like "neesings". People will assume that it must be an old form for "sneezing", however, when you study it out properly, you have the fire breathing sea dragon ... the fire being a chemical reaction. And what word does the Bible use for this special "fire breathing"? Neesings.

Not much has been written about this area, but Gail Riplinger has a good insight with the KJB's inbuilt dictionary.

Also read my booklet, "Glistering Truths".
